GoHighLevel vs Systeme.io comes down to how you sell: Systeme.io is the cheap way to sell courses and digital products by email, while GoHighLevel is built to catch leads, text and call them, book them in and close the sale. If your money comes from courses sold through funnels and emails, Systeme.io costs far less. If it comes from calls, bookings and follow-up, GoHighLevel does the job Systeme.io was not built for.

We pay for GoHighLevel ourselves and build client systems in it, so we know that side from daily use. Every Systeme.io fact below comes from Systeme.io's own pages. We checked every price on each vendor's own page on 18 October 2026.

Should you pick GoHighLevel or Systeme.io?

Pick by how you make sales, not by the feature list.

  • Pick Systeme.io if you sell courses, coaching programs or digital products, you sell mostly by email, and you want to start for $0.
  • Pick GoHighLevel if you sell a service, book sales calls, need texting and a pipeline, or answer leads by phone.
  • Cost: Systeme.io has a free plan, then $17, $47 or $97 a month. GoHighLevel starts at $97 a month, plus texts, calls and emails billed by use.
  • The catch with Systeme.io: every plan below $97 caps contacts, funnels and courses, and texting needs your own Twilio account.
  • The catch with GoHighLevel: it costs more from day one and takes longer to learn.

What is the difference between GoHighLevel and Systeme.io?

Systeme.io is built around the product you sell, and GoHighLevel is built around the lead you are trying to win. Both have funnels, email, courses, a checkout and a simple CRM. What changes is the job each one does first.

Systeme.io's pricing page leads with contacts, email, automation rules, sales funnels, websites, a blog, courses, communities and an affiliate program. It reads like a toolkit for someone who sells online and talks to buyers by email.

GoHighLevel's pricing page leads with a CRM and pipelines, email and texting, inbound and outbound calling, one inbox for every conversation, workflows, booking calendars and review requests. Courses and communities are on that list too, near the end. It reads like a toolkit for a business that wins work by talking to people fast.

How much does GoHighLevel cost compared with Systeme.io?

Systeme.io costs $0 to $97 a month, and GoHighLevel costs $97 to $497 a month before usage fees. Both give you two months free when you pay for a year.

PlanMonthlyYearlyThe main limit
Systeme.io Free$0$02,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course
Systeme.io Startup$17$1705,000 contacts, 10 funnels, 5 courses
Systeme.io Webinar$47$47010,000 contacts, 50 funnels, 20 courses
Systeme.io Unlimited$97$970No cap on contacts, funnels or courses
GoHighLevel Starter$97$9703 sub-accounts (business accounts)
GoHighLevel Unlimited$297$2,970Unlimited sub-accounts
GoHighLevel Agency Pro$497$4,970Adds SaaS mode for reselling

The plan prices hide one big difference. Systeme.io's pricing page says emails sent are unlimited on every plan. GoHighLevel bills emails, texts, calls and some AI features by use, on top of the plan. Its LC Email help article puts email at $0.675 per 1,000 emails on every plan (modified 20 August 2026, checked 18 October 2026). Our GoHighLevel pricing guide lists the other usage fees.

Neither one takes a cut of your sales. Systeme.io lists 0% transaction fees on every plan. GoHighLevel connects to Stripe, PayPal, Square, NMI, Authorize.net, Adyen and Razorpay, and lists no fee of its own. You still pay your card processor's normal rate on both.

What do Systeme.io's plan limits mean in practice?

They mean the plan you pick depends on your list size and how many funnels and courses you run. This is the part that catches people out, so here are the limits from Systeme.io's comparison table (checked 18 October 2026):

LimitFreeStartupWebinarUnlimited
Contacts2,0005,00010,000Unlimited
Sales funnels (steps)3 (15)10 (50)50 (300)Unlimited
Automation rules110100Unlimited
Workflows1520Unlimited
Email campaigns110100Unlimited
Courses1520Unlimited
Students500UnlimitedUnlimitedUnlimited
Communities1520Unlimited
CRM pipelines1520100
Booking calendar events1520Unlimited
Evergreen webinars0010Unlimited
Custom domains1310Unlimited

Two things stand out. The free plan allows 1 automation rule and 1 email campaign, so it is for testing, not for running a business. And contacts drive the price: once your list passes 10,000 people, you are on the $97 plan, the same price as GoHighLevel Starter.

Systeme.io is cheap while your list is small. At 10,000 contacts and up, it costs the same $97 a month as GoHighLevel.

What does each one cost for a real course business?

For a small course business, Systeme.io costs about a seventh of GoHighLevel. Here is one example, using our own maths and the prices above:

  • 4,000 contacts on the list
  • 2 courses and 6 funnels
  • 2 emails a week to the whole list, so about 32,000 emails a month
  • No texting and no phone calls
Cost each monthSysteme.io StartupGoHighLevel Starter
Plan$17$97
32,000 emails$0 (unlimited)$21.60 (32 x $0.675)
Total$17$118.60

That gap is about $100 a month. For a course seller who sells by email, Systeme.io is the better deal, and we would say so to a client.

Now change one thing. Say the same business sells a $3,000 coaching program on sales calls, and it wants to text every new lead and remind them about the call. Systeme.io can only send texts through your own Twilio account, with no two-way chat in the box. GoHighLevel does the texting, the booking, the reminder and the pipeline in one place. At that point the extra $100 a month is small next to one missed call.

Which is better for courses, memberships and communities?

For a straight course business, Systeme.io does enough and costs less. Both host courses, both run communities, and both let students log in to one place.

Systeme.io counts courses and communities by plan: 1, 5, 20 or unlimited. Students are capped at 500 on the free plan and unlimited on paid plans. It also tracks student activity history on every plan, and the Webinar plan adds evergreen webinars.

GoHighLevel lists courses and communities as core features on every plan, with no cap on its pricing page. Where it pulls ahead is what happens around the course: a lead fills a form, gets a text, books a call, buys, and gets course access, all from one workflow. Our guide to GoHighLevel vs Kajabi goes deeper on the course side if you are also weighing a course-first platform.

Which is better for texting, calls and booking sales calls?

GoHighLevel, by a long way. This is the clearest gap between the two.

  • Texting. GoHighLevel has texting built in, billed per message. Systeme.io's SMS page says you connect your own Twilio account and pay Twilio directly. It also says that if you need two-way conversation, "a dedicated SMS tool may be more appropriate".
  • Calls. GoHighLevel lists inbound and outbound calling. Systeme.io's pricing page does not list calling at all.
  • Booking. Both have a booking calendar. Systeme.io limits calendar events by plan (1, 5, 20 or unlimited). GoHighLevel ties bookings to reminders, texts and pipeline stages in the same workflow.
  • Pipelines. Systeme.io allows 1 to 100 CRM pipelines by plan. GoHighLevel's pipelines share one contact record with its inbox, texts and calls.

If your buyers expect a text back within minutes, start with GoHighLevel. Our special link gets you a 30-day free trial of GoHighLevel (we may earn a commission from this link) plus a free live bootcamp. Sign up on GoHighLevel's own site and you get the standard 14 days, with no bootcamp.

Which is better for email marketing?

For cost, Systeme.io. For timing emails around what a lead does, GoHighLevel.

Systeme.io gives you unlimited sends and unlimited newsletters on every plan. The limits are on email campaigns (sequences) and automation rules, so a business with many funnels moves up plans to get more of them.

GoHighLevel charges per email, but its workflows can branch on what a contact does: opened, clicked, booked, paid, replied to a text. That is useful when email is one step in a sale, not the whole sale. If you send a big newsletter to a big list and little else, Systeme.io wins on price.

Can you run more than one business on either one?

Yes, and here Systeme.io is more generous. Its pricing page says every plan allows unlimited sub-accounts, and each one gets the same limits as your main plan at no extra cost. Its white label page says white label comes with every plan, so you can rebrand it and resell it.

GoHighLevel Starter allows 3 sub-accounts. Unlimited sub-accounts start at $297 a month, and Agency Pro at $497 adds SaaS mode for agencies that resell GoHighLevel as their own software. The desktop app can be white labelled. A white label mobile app is a $497 a month add-on on the pricing page.

For one owner running two or three brands, both work. For an agency building a software business on top, GoHighLevel has more tools for it, and charges for them.

When is Systeme.io the better pick?

Pick Systeme.io when cost matters most and you sell by email.

  • You are starting out and want to test an offer for $0.
  • You sell courses, a membership or digital downloads through funnels and emails.
  • Your list is under 10,000 contacts and growing slowly.
  • You do not need to text or call your buyers.
  • You want unlimited email sends with no usage bill.

This will not suit you if your sales happen on the phone or in a booked call. You will end up adding a texting tool, a calling tool and a booking tool, and connecting them yourself.

When is GoHighLevel the better pick?

Pick GoHighLevel when answering leads fast matters more than the monthly bill.

  • You sell a service or high-ticket coaching on sales calls.
  • You want to text new leads, remind them about calls and chase no-shows.
  • You take calls and want them logged next to the contact.
  • You ask happy clients for reviews.
  • You run, or plan to run, several businesses or client accounts.

This will not suit you if you only sell a low-priced course by email. You would pay more for tools you never open. If you want other options before you decide, our GoHighLevel alternatives post compares six tools, Systeme.io included, and our GoHighLevel vs ClickFunnels post covers the funnel-first option.

Can you move from GoHighLevel to Systeme.io, or the other way?

Yes. Neither locks you in with a contract. GoHighLevel's pricing page says plans run month to month with no long-term contract. Systeme.io's pricing page says you can cancel any time, and your account drops back to the free plan at the next billing date.

Plan the move before you cancel. Export your contacts, rebuild your funnels and emails, and move your course content and students. Systeme.io lists free migration as a perk on its pricing page, so ask which plan includes it before you rely on it. When we move a client between tools, the slow part is never the export. It is rebuilding the follow-up and testing every form, email and payment again.

Moving tools is easy. Rebuilding the follow-up that makes the tool earn money is the real work.

How do the free options compare?

Systeme.io has a free plan that its pricing page says "never expires and does not require a credit card". GoHighLevel has no free plan. Its pricing page offers a 14-day trial, bills the card on file when the trial ends, and says usage fees can apply during the trial.

The fair test is to build the same thing in both: one opt-in page, one email, one booking, one payment. Start a 30-day GoHighLevel trial with our special link and you get the free live bootcamp too, which helps with the setup.

FAQ

Is Systeme.io cheaper than GoHighLevel?

Yes, for most small course businesses. Systeme.io has a free plan and paid plans at $17, $47 and $97 a month, with unlimited email sends. GoHighLevel starts at $97 a month and bills emails, texts and calls by use. Once your list passes 10,000 contacts, Systeme.io's $97 plan costs the same as GoHighLevel Starter.

Can Systeme.io send text messages?

Yes, but only through your own Twilio account. Systeme.io's SMS page says you connect Twilio and pay Twilio directly, with no markup. It describes outbound texts only. It says that if you need two-way conversations, a dedicated SMS tool may be more appropriate. GoHighLevel has two-way texting built in, billed per message.

Does GoHighLevel have a free plan like Systeme.io?

No. GoHighLevel offers a 14-day free trial on its pricing page, then billing starts on the card you entered. Our special link gets you 30 days plus a free live bootcamp. Systeme.io's free plan has no time limit, but it caps you at 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course and 1 automation rule.

Which is better for coaches?

It depends on how you sell. A coach who sells a low-priced program through emails and a checkout page will do well on Systeme.io. A coach who sells on discovery calls should look at GoHighLevel, because it texts leads, books calls, sends reminders and tracks each deal in a pipeline, all in one place.

Can I use GoHighLevel and Systeme.io together?

You can, but most people should not. Running both means two bills, two contact lists and a link between them that can break. If you need texting and booking, use GoHighLevel for everything. If you only need courses and email, Systeme.io alone is enough and costs less.

Does either one take a cut of my sales?

No. Systeme.io lists 0% transaction fees on every plan, and GoHighLevel lists no fee of its own on your sales. Both connect to Stripe and PayPal, among others. You still pay your payment provider's normal processing fee on every sale, whichever tool you pick.

Do you need a different tool, or someone to run it?

Pick by how you sell. If you sell courses by email and every dollar counts, start on Systeme.io's free plan and move up as your list grows. If you sell on calls, by text or by booking, GoHighLevel vs Systeme.io is not close: GoHighLevel does that job and Systeme.io does not.

Either way, GoHighLevel is the tool. Someone still has to do the work: write the emails, build the funnel, set up the follow-up and fix it when it leaks. We build course and coaching funnels for course creators who would rather not do that part themselves. If that sounds like you, see how Havstock Unlimited works.
