See your return on ad spend, and the number you need to break even.
ROAS means return on ad spend. It's the sales your ads bring in, split by what you spent on them. Spend $1,000 and make $4,000 in sales and your ROAS is 4, often written 4x. It tells you how hard each ad dollar works.
It's the ROAS you need just to cover your ad spend from your profit. Work it out as one split by your profit margin. With a 40% margin you need a ROAS of 2.5 to break even. Anything above that is profit.
Good is anything well above your own break even ROAS. A business with a 25% margin needs 4x just to break even, while one with a 60% margin makes money at 2x. That's why one rule of thumb doesn't fit everyone.
No. ROAS looks at sales against ad spend. ROI looks at profit against everything you spent. A campaign can have a strong ROAS and still lose money once your costs come out. The profit line in the calculator shows the real result.
