Your Google profile, pest pages and reviews, run as one plan.

If you run a pest control company, you get the pitches. "Rank number one for exterminator in your city." "A page for every town in the state." Most of them talk about rankings. Very few talk about calls, inspections or plans.
Meanwhile, the work that decides who gets the call is often left undone:
Good pest control SEO is steady work on the three things people and Google both look at: your profile, your pages and your reviews. We do that work every month. Then we show you what came of it in calls, inspections and signed plans, not just rankings.
The right main category, each pest and service you treat, your real service area and hours, and new photos from jobs each month. This is what people see in the map before they reach your website.
Rodents, termites, bed bugs, ants, wasps or mosquitoes, one page each, and only for work you do. Each page answers the first questions in its opening lines: the signs, what the visit involves, and how soon you can come.
A page for each town where you want more work, with real detail: the jobs you do there, photos from local visits and the days you run routes there. Never one page copied with the name swapped.
Every visit, one-time or plan, gets a review request by text and email, with one reminder. Every customer is asked, not just the happy ones. We draft your replies, so each review gets an answer.
We set up Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, send in your sitemap and keep the site quick on a phone. We add schema that marks you as a pest control business, and check that AI search tools are not blocked from reading the site.
Calls and forms from the site land in the CRM, which comes with the plan, along with the page they came from. Your monthly report shows leads, bookings and cost per lead. Plan sign-ups show once your team marks them.
Each request takes about 48 hours, and we work through them one at a time. Town pages arrive a page or two at a time until the set is done.
Pest control SEO is the work that gets a pest control company found when someone searches for an exterminator on Google, Google Maps or an AI tool. It covers your Google Business Profile, the pages on your website, your reviews, and what other sites say about you.
A local search shows two kinds of results. Type "pest control near me" or "exterminator" plus a town, and Google often puts a map with three companies at the top, with the list of websites below it. Your profile competes for the map. Your website competes for the list.
AI answers are now a third place to show up. Google's AI Overviews and ChatGPT will name a few companies when someone asks who to call, using what they find in search and on other sites. The same work helps there. We cover it in how to get recommended by ChatGPT and Google's AI.
The best pest control SEO keywords are the pest, the job and the town, in the words a worried homeowner uses. "Exterminator for mice near me" is worth more to you than a broad phrase that brings calls for work you don't do.
People search in four main ways. Each one needs its own page.
"Exterminator for wasps." "Pest control 24/7 near me." These people want someone today. Your map listing, your reviews and a fast reply decide who they call.
"Exterminator cost for mice." "Exterminator bed bugs cost." These people are comparing. A page that explains what changes the price, in plain words, earns the call. If you share price ranges, put them there.
"How often pest control." "Is monthly pest control necessary." These people are weighing a plan. A clear page on your plan options, and how often you visit, answers them before they ask.
Some termite searches come from a home sale or a repair. If you do that work, a separate termite inspection page that says what the visit covers is worth having.
Your phone calls are a source too. The words customers use when they ring are often the words they typed. We put those together with Google's suggestions and the searches Search Console shows you already appear for.
For a pest control company, the Google Business Profile is often the first thing a customer sees, and many call straight from it without opening your site. So local SEO for pest control companies starts there.
Google says local results are mainly based on relevance, distance and popularity, and that there is no way to pay for a better local ranking (Google's tips to improve your local ranking). You cannot change distance. Relevance is how well your profile matches the search, so listing each pest and service matters. Popularity is how well known you are, and reviews feed it.
Here is what we set up on your profile, and why:
The closest pest control category as the main one, with extra categories only for work you really do.
Each pest and service listed with a short, plain description.
Set to the towns your routes cover. Google's guidelines say a service-area business should hide its address from customers (Google's guidelines for your profile).
No "Best Exterminator" style names. The same guidelines say extra words in the business name can get your profile suspended.
Your trucks, your team and your work, with new ones every month.
A steady flow of new reviews, each one answered.
One review rule catches many service companies. Google's policy says a business must not selectively ask happy customers for reviews, or offer a discount or freebie in return for one (Google's rules on reviews). So our review requests go to every customer after every visit. If a bad review lands anyway, here is how to remove a Google review that breaks the rules, and what to do with one that doesn't.
Pest pages and town pages do most of the work on your site. One page per pest lets Google match you to "exterminator for mice", not just a general page that fits nothing well. One page per town tells Google, and the customer, that you really cover that area.
A good pest page covers the signs to look for, what your visit involves, what the customer should do before you arrive, how soon you can come and how to book. A good town page covers the jobs you do there, photos from local work and the days your routes run there.
Two rules keep these pages honest. Only build pages for pests you treat and towns you drive to. And never copy one page and swap the town name. Google's spam policies list "pages targeted at specific regions or cities that funnel users to one page" as doorway abuse (Google's spam policies). A page written for each town is the safe way, and it reads better too.
Do pest control SEO in this order. Each step builds on the one before it, and it is the order we follow for a new client.
Steps 1 to 4 and step 7 you can do yourself with some time each week. Steps 5, 6, 9 and 10 are where most owners stall, because they need writing, building and setup.
Start on your own if you have a small area and more work than you can handle. Hire help when you need pages written, tracking set up and the work kept going every month without you.
| Do it yourself | SEO-only company | Havstock | |

| What you pay | Your time | A monthly fee that varies a lot by company | $4,995 USD a month, flat |
| Google Business Profile | You | Usually included | Included |
| Pest and town pages | You write and build them | Usually included | Included |
| Review requests | You send them by hand | Sometimes, often as an extra tool | Sent on their own from the CRM |
| Ads, plan follow-up, AI chat | No | Often a separate company | Included |
| Contract | None | Varies by company | None, month to month |
An SEO-only company makes sense when your ads, website and follow-up already work and search is the one gap. We make sense when search is one of several. The same team can launch a town page, the ads for that town and the plan offer for every lead it brings. For everything we run for pest control companies, see pest control marketing. For how we do SEO in any trade, see SEO and AEO.
Pick a pest control SEO company that says what it will do each month, reports calls and booked inspections, and lets you keep everything if you leave. Ask hard questions before you sign.
Google's own page on hiring an SEO says: "No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google." Here are the questions we would ask, including of us:
Walk away from guaranteed rankings, from anyone who wants to own your profile or your domain, and from promises of hundreds of city pages in a month.
Our answers: your profile, pest pages and tracking come first, then town pages month by month. You own everything. The report shows leads, bookings and cost per lead. There is no contract. And to be straight with you, we have no pest control clients to show yet. The reviews on this page come from businesses in other fields.
Pest control SEO takes months, and nobody can promise a date. Fixes to your profile can help sooner. New pages take longer, because Google has to find them, test them and trust them.
So judge it by what reaches your phone, not by rankings alone:
The profile's performance view shows both.
Search Console shows the searches you appear for, and how many people clicked.
Tracked in the CRM, with the page each one came from.
The step that turns a lead into a visit.
The number that pays for the work.
Ignore reports built on "domain authority" or rankings for phrases you never chose. We wrote about which marketing numbers actually matter. If you want to talk through where your company stands, tell us what you need.
