GoHighLevel Voice AI is an AI phone agent that answers your calls, makes outbound calls, books appointments and hands callers to a person when it should. On pay per use it costs $0.045 a minute for the voice engine, plus a voice fee from $0.015 a minute, plus AI model tokens and phone charges, or you can pay $50 or $97 a month per sub-account for a bundle. We checked every number below on GoHighLevel's own help pages on 12 October 2026.
The short answer
Voice AI comes with every GoHighLevel plan, but the minutes are charged. There are three ways to pay:
- Pay per use: $0.045 a minute engine fee, plus the voice you pick (from $0.015 a minute), plus model tokens.
- AI Employee Growth, $50 a month: 100 Voice AI minutes, then pay per use.
- AI Employee Unlimited, $97 a month: unlimited Voice AI under a fair use rule.
Phone call charges come on top of all three.
One thing first. Havstock does not sell a voice agent. Our own AI works by chat and text only. We run GoHighLevel's Conversation AI as the chat on our own site, but we have not put Voice AI on a phone line. So this is GoHighLevel's own pricing with the maths done for you, not a pitch.
What does GoHighLevel Voice AI do?
It answers and makes phone calls for your business, using a prompt and business facts you give it. GoHighLevel's Voice AI overview help article (modified 17 September 2026) lists what an agent can do:
- Answer calls at all hours, or only on a schedule you set.
- Act as a backup. A routing setting called "Use as Backup" lets the agent pick up only when your normal line does not answer. For most small businesses, that is the useful bit.
- Book appointments into your GoHighLevel calendar during the call.
- Answer questions from a knowledge base: hours, services, prices, policies.
- Save what the caller says to the contact record in your CRM, or create a new contact.
- Transfer the call to a person, or to another AI agent.
- Do things during or after the call: send a text, start a workflow, update a field or call a webhook.
- Make outbound calls from a workflow, for follow-ups, reminders and old-lead campaigns.
- Speak more than one language, and sit in a widget on your website as well as on the phone.
Each call is logged with a transcript, a recording and a summary. One limit to know up front: Voice AI only works with LC Phone (GoHighLevel's built-in phone system) or Twilio numbers.
How much does GoHighLevel Voice AI cost?
It costs a per-minute rate on pay per use, or a flat $50 or $97 a month per sub-account on an AI Employee plan. All figures are from GoHighLevel's AI Product Pricing article (modified 28 September 2026), checked 12 October 2026.
| Plan | Price | Voice AI included | After that |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pay per use | No monthly fee | None | Engine, voice and tokens charged on every minute |
| AI Employee Growth | $50 a month per sub-account | 100 minutes a month, with inbound, outbound and widget calls counted together | Pay-per-use rates |
| AI Employee Unlimited | $97 a month per sub-account | Unlimited, under fair use | GoHighLevel may throttle or limit heavy use |
The two paid plans cover more than voice. Growth also includes 1,000 Conversation AI replies a month. Unlimited also covers unlimited Conversation AI, Reviews AI and Content AI. We cover the whole bundle in our GoHighLevel AI Employee review, so we will not repeat it here.
You also need a GoHighLevel plan first, from $97 a month (GoHighLevel's pricing page, checked 12 October 2026). That page lists Voice AI on every plan, marked "usage based charges apply". And the AI plans are per sub-account, so two locations means two bills.
What are the pay-per-use rates for Voice AI?
Every pay-per-use minute has three parts: the voice engine, the voice you pick, and the AI model's tokens. Since 20 May 2026 the engine is $0.045 a minute. Before that date GoHighLevel used older bundled pricing, which is why older videos and posts show other numbers.
| Part | Rate (checked 12 October 2026) |
|---|---|
| Voice engine | $0.045 a minute |
| Voice: OpenAI | $0.015 a minute |
| Voice: Cartesia | $0.015 a minute |
| Voice: ElevenLabs V2.5 | $0.035 a minute |
| Voice: ElevenLabs V3 | $0.170 a minute |
| AI model tokens | $0.05 to $3.00 per million tokens, depending on the model |
There is also a second kind of agent, called speech to speech. It hears audio and answers in audio through one model, and GoHighLevel prices it as one all-in-one rate per minute: $0.10 a minute for Google's Gemini live model and $0.20 a minute for OpenAI's realtime model.
Nobody can price the tokens for you in advance. GoHighLevel does not publish how many tokens a minute of talk uses. A long prompt, a big knowledge base and a chatty caller all use more. Models run from $0.05 to $3.00 per million tokens, so the model you pick matters.
The voice you pick can cost more than the engine. ElevenLabs V3 is $0.17 a minute. That is nearly four times the $0.045 engine fee.
What does one Voice AI call cost?
A 10-minute call with the OpenAI voice costs $0.60 before tokens and phone charges. That is GoHighLevel's own worked example, and our maths below matches it. Here is the same sum for each voice:
| Voice | 1 minute | 10-minute call | 100 minutes a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| OpenAI or Cartesia | $0.06 | $0.60 | $6.00 |
| ElevenLabs V2.5 | $0.08 | $0.80 | $8.00 |
| ElevenLabs V3 | $0.215 | $2.15 | $21.50 |
| Gemini speech to speech | $0.10 | $1.00 | $10.00 |
| OpenAI speech to speech | $0.20 | $2.00 | $20.00 |
Our maths from GoHighLevel's rates, checked 12 October 2026. The first three rows are the $0.045 engine plus the voice. All rows are before phone charges, and the first three are also before tokens.
Which Voice AI plan is cheapest for you?
If phone calls are all you want the AI for, pay per use is cheapest until you pass about 1,600 minutes a month. The $50 Growth plan only makes sense if you also use the chat bot.
Here is why. On the OpenAI voice, 100 minutes on pay per use is $6.00 before tokens. Growth charges $50 for those same 100 minutes. Growth earns its price through the 1,000 Conversation AI replies and the other tools in the bundle, not through the voice minutes.
Unlimited at $97 a month beats pay per use once you pass about 1,600 minutes a month on the OpenAI voice ($97 divided by $0.06). On ElevenLabs V3 the break-even drops to about 450 minutes. Those are our sums, and they leave out tokens, which you pay on pay per use but not inside a plan's included minutes. So the real break-even is a little lower.
| Minutes a month | Pay per use (OpenAI voice, before tokens) | Growth | Unlimited |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | $3.00 | $50.00 | $97.00 |
| 100 | $6.00 | $50.00 | $97.00 |
| 500 | $30.00 | $74.00 ($50 plus 400 extra minutes) | $97.00 |
| 1,600 | $96.00 | $140.00 ($50 plus 1,500 extra minutes) | $97.00 |
Our maths, checked 12 October 2026, before phone charges. Extra minutes on Growth are billed at pay-per-use rates, so they carry tokens too.
For voice alone, Growth is a dear way to buy minutes. Its 100 minutes cost $50. On pay per use they cost $6 plus tokens.
Two settings stop a bill from running away. On Growth, GoHighLevel's usage limit can either keep the AI running and notify you, or block the AI when it hits the limit. Pick the one you can live with before you go live. And remember that "unlimited" comes with fair use: GoHighLevel's page says it may throttle, limit or ask you to upgrade if use is excessive.
The cheapest way to find your real number is to test it. Our special link gets you a 30-day free trial of GoHighLevel (we may earn a commission from this link) plus a free live bootcamp. Sign up on GoHighLevel's own site and you get the standard 14 days, with no bootcamp. Usage charges for calls can still apply during a trial.
What phone charges come on top of Voice AI?
Normal phone charges apply to every AI call, on every plan. GoHighLevel's AI pricing page says so, and its phone system pricing guide (modified 29 September 2026) lists the US rates:
| Phone item (US) | Price (checked 12 October 2026) |
|---|---|
| Local number | $1.15 a month |
| Toll-free number | $2.15 a month |
| Inbound call, answered in the app or on a desk phone | $0.01165 a minute |
| Inbound call to a toll-free number | $0.0198 a minute |
| Outbound call | $0.0166 a minute |
| Call recording | $0.0025 a minute |
| Recording storage | $0.0005 a minute, every month, old recordings too |
| Call transcription | $0.024 a minute |
Calls are billed in full minutes, so a 61-second call is charged as 2 minutes. GoHighLevel's pages do not say which of these lines an AI-answered call uses. Run a week of test calls and read the usage log in your wallet before you trust any estimate, ours included. Our GoHighLevel pricing guide covers texts, emails and the rest of the usage fees.
How do you set up a Voice AI agent in GoHighLevel?
You build it inside a sub-account under AI Agents, test it in your browser, then give it a phone number. These steps follow GoHighLevel's help guide to creating Voice AI agents (modified 1 October 2026):
- Open Voice AI. In the sub-account, go to AI Agents, then Voice AI, then the Agent List tab.
- Create the agent. Click + Create Agent. Pick a ready-made agent from the Marketplace, a Custom Agent, or the Flow Based Builder for calls with several steps.
- Set the basics. Name, voice, model, language and time zone. Then write the prompt and the welcome message.
- Add a knowledge base. Your hours, services, prices, areas and policies.
- Add actions. Booking, call transfer, send a text, update a field, start a workflow. Add only the ones the call needs.
- Test it. A web call in the browser first, then a real phone call. Call transfer does not work in a web call test, so test transfers by phone.
- Deploy it. Assign a number, choose whether the agent answers directly or as a backup, and set its working hours.
One tip from building chat bots in GoHighLevel for ourselves. Write the knowledge base by hand from your real facts. Do not point the agent at your whole website, because old pages and sample prices get quoted as fact. GoHighLevel's own guide says the same thing another way: tell the agent not to guess when it does not know.
Most of the work is the facts and the testing. A voice agent with thin facts sounds confident and gets things wrong.
What are the rules for outbound Voice AI calls?
Outbound Voice AI calls run from a workflow, and GoHighLevel puts hard limits on them. These come from its outbound calling article (modified 18 September 2026):
| Rule | Limit |
|---|---|
| Speed | Up to 10 calls a minute per location |
| Daily cap | Up to 5,000 calls a day per location. Extra calls move to the next day |
| Same number | Once a day, and up to 14 times in 14 days |
| Hours | 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM in the contact's time zone, based on their phone number |
| Where | Domestic numbers in the same country as your location only |
Your location also needs to pass GoHighLevel's verification checks and accept its outbound terms. That acceptance is not consent from the people you call. GoHighLevel says plainly that it does not check consent before it dials. That part is on you.
Accepting GoHighLevel's outbound terms is not the same as having permission to call someone.
In the US, the FCC confirmed in February 2024 that the rules on "artificial or prerecorded voice" calls cover AI voices, so those calls need the prior express consent of the person called. We do not give legal advice. Check with your lawyer before you run an outbound campaign.
Voice AI vs Conversation AI: which one do you need?
Voice AI handles phone calls. Conversation AI handles chat and text: your website chat, texts, and other message channels. Pick by where your leads reach you.
If most of your work comes by phone and calls get missed when you are on a job, Voice AI is the one to look at. If leads come through forms, chat and texts, Conversation AI fits better, and we reviewed it in our GoHighLevel Conversation AI review. Both run from the same AI plans, so on Growth or Unlimited you can use both.
There is also a cheaper step before either one. Send a single text back to anyone whose call you miss, so they know you saw it. Our guide to missed call text back walks through the setup and the costs.
Is GoHighLevel Voice AI worth it?
Yes, if you already run your business on GoHighLevel and you lose leads to missed calls. The agent books into the same calendar, saves to the same CRM and starts the same workflows you already have. At $0.06 a minute before tokens on the cheaper voices, a short call costs cents.
It is the wrong choice in a few cases:
- You do not use GoHighLevel. Paying for a $97 plan plus usage just to get a phone agent is a long way round. A standalone AI receptionist from a company like Smith.ai, Upfirst or Goodcall is simpler to start. We compared their prices in our AI receptionist cost guide.
- Your callers need a person. Emergencies, upset customers and anything sensitive go better with a human answering service, or a transfer to you.
- You have nobody to build and test it. A voice agent needs a good prompt, clean facts, tested actions and someone reading the call logs each week.
That last one is where we come in, partly. GoHighLevel is the tool. Someone still has to do the work. We do not build voice agents, but we set up and look after the chat and text side in our Conversation AI service, along with the funnels, follow-up and ads around it. If you would rather hand that work over, see how Havstock Unlimited works.
FAQ
How much does GoHighLevel Voice AI cost per minute?
On pay per use, the voice engine is $0.045 a minute since 20 May 2026. Add the voice you choose, from $0.015 a minute for OpenAI or Cartesia up to $0.17 for ElevenLabs V3, plus AI model tokens. Phone charges come on top. That makes about $0.06 a minute before tokens on the cheaper voices.
Is Voice AI included in GoHighLevel plans?
Voice AI is a feature on every GoHighLevel plan, but its minutes are charged. You either pay per use, pay $50 a month per sub-account for 100 minutes on AI Employee Growth, or pay $97 a month for unlimited use under fair use on AI Employee Unlimited. Phone call charges apply on every option.
Can GoHighLevel Voice AI make outbound calls?
Yes. Outbound calls run from a workflow action. GoHighLevel limits them to 10 calls a minute and 5,000 a day per location, once a day per number, and 8 AM to 8 PM in the contact's time zone. You are responsible for having each person's consent before the AI calls them.
Can GoHighLevel Voice AI book appointments?
Yes. Add the Appointment Booking action and connect your calendar. The agent offers open times during the call and books the slot, and the booking lands in your GoHighLevel calendar and CRM. Test it with a real phone call before going live, and check the booking shows up where your team looks.
Can I use my own phone number with Voice AI?
Voice AI works with LC Phone numbers and Twilio numbers. You can assign an existing number in your account, buy a new one from the agent's Deploy screen, or use a number pool. A number already set up for something else, like a phone menu, cannot be used for the agent as well.
Is Go High Level Voice AI the same as the AI Employee?
No. Voice AI is one product. AI Employee is the name of two monthly plans, Growth at $50 and Unlimited at $97 per sub-account, that bundle Voice AI with Conversation AI, Reviews AI, Content AI and more. You can use Voice AI without either plan by paying per use.
Do I still pay for calls on the Unlimited plan?
Yes. AI Employee Unlimited covers the AI side of each call: engine, voice and tokens. Phone system charges still apply to every call on every plan. In the US that includes the number at $1.15 a month for a local line, plus per-minute call charges, recording and transcription if you turn them on.
GoHighLevel Voice AI is cheap per minute and easy to start, as long as you already use GoHighLevel and you put the time into its facts and tests. Start on pay per use, set a usage limit, and read a week of call logs before you pick a plan. If you have not tried GoHighLevel yet, start a 30-day free trial with our special link and build your first voice agent on test calls.
