GoHighLevel certification, officially called HighLevel Certified Admin, costs $97 a month or $970 a year, on top of your HighLevel plan. You do about 7 to 10 days of coursework, then pass a live proctored exam. It is worth it if you sell GoHighLevel work to clients. For a business owner running one account, it usually is not. Every price and rule below was checked on GoHighLevel's own certification page on 12 October 2026.

The short answer

  • Cost: $97 a month or $970 a year, plus a HighLevel plan to keep it active.
  • Time: 7 to 10 days of coursework, then a live proctored exam.
  • How long it lasts: the badge lasts 2 years, if you keep paying and earn 2 skills badges a year.
  • Worth it? Yes if you sell GoHighLevel work. Usually no for a business owner.

What is the GoHighLevel certification?

It is HighLevel's own training and exam program. Pass it and you become a HighLevel Certified Admin, with a badge and a listing in its Certified Directory. GoHighLevel sells it as a separate subscription from the software itself, on its HighLevel certifications page (we may earn a commission from this link).

The page lays it out in three steps:

  1. Enroll. Pay for the monthly or annual plan.
  2. Complete the training. GoHighLevel calls it hands-on, with real-world tasks.
  3. Pass the exam. A live, proctored exam. Pass it and you get the Certified Admin badge.

Once your payment goes through, you are added to a private community where the course lives. GoHighLevel says this is not inside your HighLevel University. You also get welcome emails with how to get started.

GoHighLevel says the program suits all skill levels, from new users to old hands. That is true in the sense that anyone can sign up. Whether it is worth the money for you is a different question, and we answer it below.

How much does GoHighLevel certification cost?

It costs $97 a month or $970 a year. Teams of more than 15 people can ask GoHighLevel for enterprise pricing. These are the prices on GoHighLevel's certification page, checked 12 October 2026. The program is also listed as an add-on, at $97 a month, on GoHighLevel's pricing page.

PlanPriceWhat GoHighLevel says
Monthly$97 a monthNo long-term commitment
Annual$970 a year"Save 20%"
Team of more than 15Not listedContact GoHighLevel for enterprise pricing

One small thing. The 20% figure is generous. Twelve monthly payments come to $1,164. The annual plan saves $194 of that, which is about 17% by our maths. Still a saving, just not 20%.

The cost people miss: your HighLevel plan

Certification does not include the software. GoHighLevel's FAQ says it is a separate subscription from your HighLevel plan. It also says that if your HighLevel subscription ends, your certification goes inactive and your name comes off the directory.

So the real cost is two subscriptions. The cheapest HighLevel plan, Starter, is $97 a month or $970 a year on GoHighLevel's pricing page (checked 12 October 2026). Here is what a year looks like, by our maths:

How you payCertificationHighLevel Starter planTotal for a year
Monthly$1,164$1,164$2,328
Yearly$970$970$1,940

If you already pay for HighLevel to run your business or agency, only the certification column is new money. Phone, text and AI usage fees come on top of any plan. Our GoHighLevel pricing guide covers all of those.

No account yet? Try the platform before you pay for both. Our special link gets you a 30-day free trial of GoHighLevel plus a free live bootcamp. Sign up on GoHighLevel's own site and you get the standard 14 days, with no bootcamp.

Certification is a second subscription, not a replacement for the first. Budget for both.

What is the GoHighLevel certification exam like?

It is a live, proctored, practical exam that you take after the coursework. GoHighLevel's own blog calls it "a live practical exam". Its FAQ calls the proctored part "Part B", which suggests there is an earlier part as well.

GoHighLevel says the course is built to take 7 to 10 days at a steady pace. Heavy users may finish sooner. It also says the value is in learning the material, not racing through it.

What the public pages do not say: the pass mark, how long the exam takes, or how many retakes you get. We looked. If any of those matter to you, ask GoHighLevel before you pay.

How to prepare

Because the training is hands-on and the exam is practical, the most useful prep is building things in a real account. Memorizing menus will not help much. Set up the basics in order: your business profile, a phone number, text registration, a pipeline, a calendar, a form and a first workflow. Our GoHighLevel tutorial walks through those ten steps in the order that saves the most time.

How long does GoHighLevel certification last?

The Certified Admin badge is valid for two years from the day you pass the live proctored exam. You do not re-sit the exam every year. But staying certified has rules, all from GoHighLevel's FAQ:

  • Earn at least two more skills badges a year. The specialty courses below are how you get them.
  • Keep the certification subscription. GoHighLevel says staying subscribed keeps your certification active.
  • Keep your HighLevel subscription. If it ends, your certification goes inactive and you leave the directory.
  • Come back within 90 days. Cancel and re-enroll within 90 days and you can reactivate without retaking the exam. After 90 days, you retake it.

So the two years is how long the badge lasts. It is not two years of being certified for one payment.

Two years is the life of the badge. Staying certified means paying, and learning, the whole way through.

What specialty badges can you add?

Once you are a Certified Admin, you can take feature-specific courses and add badges to your profile. GoHighLevel's page lists nine:

BadgeWhat GoHighLevel says it covers
A2P ComplianceText message compliance and A2P 10DLC registration
Course CreatorOnboarding, engagement and growing communities
SaaSPRENEUR "Local Hero"Agency offers, tech setup, getting clients and reputation
AI EmployeeVoice AI and other AI automation tools
HIPAA ComplianceCompliance basics and customer data
Paid AdsLead sources, workflows and conversions for ads
Social Media ManagerPlanning and automating social media
Automated Swag StoreBranded merch stores
Quick WinsTools and automations for fast results across the client journey

Pick the ones that match what you sell. A2P Compliance is the one we would start with if you set up texting for clients. Text registration has strict rules, and until it is approved, a client's texts may not get through.

What do you get after you pass?

You get a directory listing, a private community and access to jobs only certified people can bid on. Here is what GoHighLevel lists:

  • A directory listing. Your profile goes on directory.gohighlevel.com. GoHighLevel says buyers can filter by industry, services and credentials, and see your certifications and client reviews (GoHighLevel's post on the Certified Admin program, 14 November 2025).
  • A private community. The same post says weekly leads and job requests are shared there, for members only.
  • Freelance jobs. The certification page says certified people can bid on freelance work only open to them.
  • Certified support and new courses. Support from HighLevel staff, and new training as features change.

What GoHighLevel does not publish: how many leads the directory sends, how many jobs the community posts, or what certified admins earn. The page talks about making more money and charging premium rates. We cannot check those claims, so treat them as sales copy, not data.

The badge gets you into the room where buyers look. It does not do the selling for you.

Is GoHighLevel certification worth it?

It is worth it if you sell GoHighLevel work and will use the directory and the job board. If you only run your own business on GoHighLevel, it usually is not. Here is our take by reader:

You are...Our takeWhy
A business owner running your own accountUsually skip itYou pay $97 a month for training you can mostly get free. The directory and job board are for people selling services
A freelancer or VA who sells GoHighLevel setupWorth it if you will use the directoryIt puts you where buyers search. Treat it as a marketing cost and review it after a few months
An agency with a teamCertify the people who buildClients can see who is certified. Over 15 people, ask about team pricing
Someone hiring helpUse the badge as a first filterA pass shows platform knowledge. It does not prove the person will do good work for you

If you are hiring, ask for past builds and talk to a past client, badge or no badge. Our guide to hiring a GoHighLevel expert covers cost, where to look and the red flags.

Where certification is the wrong choice: when what you really want is GoHighLevel set up and running for your business. Learning it to exam level is the slow road to that. GoHighLevel is the tool. Someone still has to do the work. If you would rather hand that part over, see how Havstock Unlimited works, or look at what our CRM and automations work includes.

Is there a free GoHighLevel certification?

No, not from GoHighLevel. The official Certified Admin program is paid: $97 a month or $970 a year. Some courses on other sites give their own certificate of completion. Those are not GoHighLevel's certification, and they do not put you in its Certified Directory.

You can still learn the platform for free, just without a badge:

  • GoHighLevel's help center. It is public. We read every GoHighLevel help article we cite on this blog without logging in.
  • Our tutorial. The GoHighLevel tutorial above covers the setup a beginner needs first.
  • The free trial and bootcamp. GoHighLevel's bootcamp page describes a live, click-by-click session on Zoom, free with the trial. Our free trial guide covers the card, the billing date and how to cancel.

Start free. If you then decide to sell GoHighLevel work, the paid certification makes more sense, because you will already know the basics.

Learn the platform for free first. Pay for the badge when you are ready to sell the skill.

FAQ

How much does GoHighLevel certification cost?

It costs $97 a month or $970 a year on GoHighLevel's certification page, checked 12 October 2026. Teams of more than 15 can ask for enterprise pricing. You also need an active HighLevel plan, from $97 a month for Starter, because your certification goes inactive if your HighLevel subscription ends.

How long does it take to get GoHighLevel certified?

GoHighLevel says the course is built to take 7 to 10 days at a steady pace, and heavy users may finish sooner. After the coursework you take a live proctored exam. GoHighLevel's public pages do not say how long the exam takes or how quickly results come back, so ask before you enroll.

Do you need a GoHighLevel account to get certified?

You need one to stay certified. GoHighLevel's FAQ says certification is a separate subscription from your HighLevel plan, and that your certification becomes inactive if your HighLevel subscription ends. If you do not have an account yet, start with a free trial so you can practice before the exam.

Does GoHighLevel certification expire?

The Certified Admin badge is valid for two years from the day you pass the live proctored exam. To stay certified, you must earn at least two more skills badges each year and keep both your certification and HighLevel subscriptions active. If either lapses, your certification goes inactive and you leave the directory.

Is Go High Level certification the same as HighLevel certification?

Yes. GoHighLevel, Go High Level, GHL and HighLevel all mean the same company. The company calls itself HighLevel, and its official program is HighLevel Certified Admin. Courses on other sites may use the same words in their titles, but only HighLevel's own program gets you into its Certified Directory.

What happens if I cancel the certification subscription?

Your certification goes inactive. GoHighLevel's FAQ says that if you re-enroll within 90 days, you can reactivate it without retaking the live proctored exam. After 90 days, you need to retake the exam to get your access and your directory listing back. Plan any pause around that 90-day window.

Does GoHighLevel certification help you get clients?

It can put you in front of buyers. Certified Admins get a directory listing, a members-only community where GoHighLevel says leads and job requests are shared weekly, and freelance jobs only certified people can bid on. GoHighLevel does not publish how many leads that brings, so treat it as one marketing channel.

That is GoHighLevel certification in plain terms: two subscriptions, 7 to 10 days of training, one live exam and a badge you keep earning. Sell GoHighLevel work and the directory and community are worth a try. Run one business and you are better off learning for free. If you want to start there, our special link gets you a 30-day free trial of GoHighLevel and a free live bootcamp.
