GoHighLevel is owned by HighLevel, a private software company in Dallas, Texas, still run by the three people who founded it in 2018: Shaun Clark, Varun Vairavan and Robin Alex. Two outside investors hold minority stakes: a group led by PeakEquity Partners, which put in over $60 million in 2021, and General Atlantic, which invested an amount it did not disclose in 2024. If you searched who owns GoHighLevel, or who owns Go High Level, that is the answer. We checked every fact below on HighLevel's own pages and its investors' announcements on 18 October 2026.

  • The company: HighLevel. The site footer reads "HighLevel LLC, a subsidiary of GoHighLevel Inc."
  • Founders: Shaun Clark, Varun Vairavan and Robin Alex, in 2018.
  • Who runs it: Shaun Clark as CEO, Varun Vairavan as CTO and Robin Alex as COO.
  • Where: Dallas, Texas.
  • Outside money: over $60 million in 2021, plus a 2024 investment of an undisclosed size. Both were minority stakes.
  • Stock market: none. HighLevel is private, so its revenue and value are not public.

Who owns GoHighLevel?

HighLevel owns GoHighLevel, and HighLevel is owned by its founders plus two outside investors with minority stakes. GoHighLevel is the name on the website and the app. HighLevel is the company. The footer of HighLevel's about page (we may earn a commission from this link) reads: "© 2026 HighLevel LLC, a subsidiary of GoHighLevel Inc." So there is a parent company, GoHighLevel Inc., and the company you deal with day to day, HighLevel LLC.

The terms of service you accept when you sign up name "HIGHLEVEL LLC" as the other side of the contract (terms last updated June 2026, checked 18 October 2026). That is who bills you and who you would deal with in a dispute.

As for who owns the shares: both outside deals were described as minority stakes. That means neither investor bought control on its own. HighLevel has not published its full list of shareholders or how much each one owns, so nobody outside the company can tell you the exact split. Be wary of any site that says it can.

Who founded GoHighLevel?

Shaun Clark, Varun Vairavan and Robin Alex founded GoHighLevel in 2018. HighLevel's about page says it "was founded by Shaun Clark, Varun Vairavan and Robin Alex with a mission to transform digital marketing" by giving agencies the tools to automate and scale their work.

It was built for marketing agencies first. That still shows in how the product works today: you buy an agency account, then run each business inside it as a sub-account. Our what is GoHighLevel guide explains that setup in plain words, or you can see it for yourself with a 30-day free trial through our special link.

The about page timeline gives the early story in the company's own words:

YearWhat HighLevel says happened
2018Founded by Shaun Clark, Varun Vairavan and Robin Alex
2019"Public launch with 1,000+ customers. Team grew to 26 members across 7 countries."
2020"Supported 5,000+ customers during global uncertainty."
2021"Grew to 10,000+ customers."
2022"Surpassed 20,000 customers."
2023"Exceeded 60,000 customers and $1B in revenue."
2025"Powering 2.2 million businesses."

One note on that 2023 line. The 2022 line talks about "customer revenue", meaning money HighLevel's customers made. The 2023 line just says "$1B in revenue" and does not say whose. We would not quote it as HighLevel's own revenue.

Who is the CEO of GoHighLevel?

Shaun Clark is the CEO of GoHighLevel. When General Atlantic announced its investment on 11 April 2024, it named the three founders and their jobs:

FounderJob
Shaun ClarkCo-Founder and CEO
Varun VairavanCo-Founder and CTO (chief technology officer)
Robin AlexCo-Founder and COO (chief operating officer)

HighLevel's own post on that deal says the three founders "will remain in their existing leadership roles." We found nothing newer that changes this as of 18 October 2026.

The about page also lists three more leaders: Q Hamirani as Chief People Officer, Sean Kim as Chief Product Officer and Jolene Marshall as Chief Legal Officer. It does not list the founders' titles itself, which is why we take those from the 2024 announcement.

Eight years in, the people who started GoHighLevel are still the people who run it.

How much funding has GoHighLevel raised?

GoHighLevel has announced two outside investments: over $60 million in 2021, and a 2024 investment whose size was never made public. Here is what each announcement says:

SourceHighLevel's 2021 funding postGeneral Atlantic's announcement and HighLevel's 2024 post

PeakEquity did not leave when General Atlantic came in. HighLevel's 2024 post says PeakEquity will "remain an active investor in the business" and keep its board seat.

Two investors bought in. Neither bought control, and the founders kept running the company.

Some data sites list a total of about $60 million, or a "Series A" of a different amount. None of them can know the size of the 2024 deal, because it was never published. Treat any exact total with care.

What was the money for?

In 2021, Shaun Clark said the money "allows us to continue to grow the team faster so that we can continue to evolve the product at an incredible pace." In 2024, HighLevel said it would invest "even further in key growth and innovation initiatives," including product and AI. In both cases the founders stayed in charge.

Is GoHighLevel a public company?

No. HighLevel is a private company. It has no stock market listing, so you cannot buy its shares on an exchange, and it does not have to publish its revenue, profit or value.

That is why you will not find a trusted revenue or valuation figure for GoHighLevel. Some data sites print revenue estimates or a value. None of those numbers come from HighLevel or its investors, so we do not repeat them here. The two things the company has said in public are the growth line above ("more than 5x while maintaining profitability" from 2021 to 2024) and its customer counts.

If you want a software company that has to publish its accounts, pick a public one. HubSpot, for example, is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and reports its results every quarter. On that one point, HubSpot beats HighLevel. Our GoHighLevel alternatives post compares the two on price and features.

Where is GoHighLevel based?

GoHighLevel is based in Dallas, Texas. The about page footer gives its address as 1801 N. Lamar St., Suite 600, Dallas, Texas 75202. The notices section of the terms of service gives a different Dallas mailing address, so use the one in the terms if you ever need to send a formal notice.

The team is spread out. Back in 2019, the about page says, it already had 26 people across 7 countries.

Is LeadConnector the same company as GoHighLevel?

Yes, LeadConnector is a HighLevel brand. HighLevel's terms of service list "LeadConnector" among its own trademarks. You see the name on the phone system (LC Phone), the phone numbers and email services in the terms, and the LeadConnector WordPress plugin. Same company, different label.

What does the ownership tell you before you build on GoHighLevel?

It tells you the company is stable enough to bet on, with a few limits to know. Here is how we read it, as people who build on GoHighLevel for clients:

  • Founder-led. The same three people have run it since 2018, with no change at the top.
  • Minority investors. Both outside deals were minority stakes. On paper, no investor took control on its own.
  • Profitable growth, by its own account. HighLevel says it grew more than five times from 2021 to 2024 while staying profitable. That is the company's claim, not an audited figure, but it is a good sign that it is not burning cash to survive.
  • Private, so less to read. You will not get quarterly reports. If a supplier's public accounts matter to you, that is a real gap.
  • A US contract. You sign with HighLevel LLC under its terms. Read the parts on billing, cancelling and your data before you move a client in.

The bigger risk is not who owns it. It is that GoHighLevel changes fast. Prices, fees and features move often, and the help pages are updated week to week. Check the current numbers in our GoHighLevel pricing guide, and read our GoHighLevel review for what the product is like to use.

The ownership is not the risk. The risk is building on a tool that changes every week and never checking what changed.

Is GoHighLevel a safe company to build on?

For most small businesses and agencies, yes. It has run for eight years under the same founders, it has two large investors, and it says it serves millions of businesses. The one case where we would pause: if you need a supplier with published accounts for a big contract, a public company fits that rule better.

Should you run your business on GoHighLevel?

If you want one tool for your CRM, follow-ups, booking and pages, the ownership is no reason to say no. The real test is your own: try it with your real work for a month.

The easy way to do that is to start a 30-day free trial with our special link. You also get a free live bootcamp that walks you through setting up the account. Sign up on GoHighLevel's own site and you get the standard 14 days, with no bootcamp.

GoHighLevel is the tool. Someone still has to do the work: build the pipeline, write the follow-ups, connect the forms and keep it running. We do that for clients as part of our CRM and automations work. If you would rather hand it over, see how Havstock Unlimited works.

FAQ

Who owns GoHighLevel?

HighLevel owns GoHighLevel. HighLevel is a private company in Dallas, Texas, founded in 2018 by Shaun Clark, Varun Vairavan and Robin Alex, who still run it. A group led by PeakEquity Partners and the firm General Atlantic hold minority stakes. The site footer names HighLevel LLC as a subsidiary of GoHighLevel Inc.

Who is the CEO of GoHighLevel?

Shaun Clark, one of the three co-founders. General Atlantic's April 2024 announcement named him Co-Founder and CEO, with Varun Vairavan as Co-Founder and CTO and Robin Alex as Co-Founder and COO. HighLevel said the three would stay in their roles after that investment, and we found nothing newer that changes it.

How much is GoHighLevel worth?

Nobody outside the company knows for sure. HighLevel is private and has never published a valuation. Its 2024 investment from General Atlantic was announced without any financial terms. Any figure you see on a data site is an estimate from that site, not a number from HighLevel or its investors.

Is GoHighLevel profitable?

HighLevel says so. Its 2024 announcement says the company grew "more than 5x while maintaining profitability" over the previous three years. Because it is private, it does not publish audited accounts, so that is the company's own claim. It has not shared a profit or revenue figure.

Can I buy shares in GoHighLevel?

Not on a stock market. HighLevel is private and is not listed on any exchange, so there are no public shares to buy. Its outside owners are investment firms that bought minority stakes in private deals, PeakEquity Partners in 2021 and General Atlantic in 2024.

Is GoHighLevel an American company?

Yes. HighLevel is based in Dallas, Texas, and its terms of service name HighLevel LLC as the company you contract with. Its team has worked across several countries since at least 2019, and its founders are the same three people who started it in 2018. You pay and sign with the US company.

How much money has GoHighLevel raised?

Over $60 million in 2021, in a round led by PeakEquity Partners, plus a 2024 investment from General Atlantic whose size was not made public. So the true total is not known. Any site that gives an exact total is either missing the 2024 deal or guessing at its size.

So, who owns GoHighLevel? HighLevel, a private Dallas company still run by Shaun Clark, Varun Vairavan and Robin Alex, with PeakEquity Partners and General Atlantic as minority investors. Its revenue and value are not public, and anyone quoting them is guessing. For most buyers, the better questions are price, fit and who will set it up.
