GoHighLevel Review 2026: Is It Worth It for Your Business?

GoHighLevel is worth it for service businesses and agencies that will put in the setup time, and not worth it for anyone who wants something simple that works in an afternoon. We pay for it ourselves, build client systems in it and run our own funnels and chat bot on it. This GoHighLevel review covers what it does well, where it falls short, what the review scores really say, and how to test it before you commit.

The short answer

GoHighLevel gives a small business a CRM, funnels, texting, email, booking, reviews, payments and AI for $97 a month, plus usage. Nothing else we know packs that much into one login at that price. The catch is the learning curve. It rewards people who build properly and punishes people who expect it to set itself up.

How we use GoHighLevel

This is not a review from a two-week trial. We are on the Unlimited plan, at $297 a month, because we build systems for clients and need more than three accounts. We run our own funnels in it. The chat bot on our homepage is GoHighLevel's Conversation AI.

We also moved part of our business off it. In September 2026, we took our marketing website and blog off GoHighLevel's site builder and onto a separate host. Editing code blocks and global templates inside the builder was slow for us, and we wanted to rebuild pages in one pass. Our funnels, CRM and chat bot stayed. So we have seen both sides: what it is great at, and where we chose something else.

GoHighLevel review scores

Here is what three review sites said on 27 September 2026:

SiteScoreReviews
Trustpilot4.9 out of 515,073
G24.6 out of 5651
Capterra4.2 out of 5 (ease of use 3.7)89

Those numbers tell two different stories, and most reviews miss it.

Trustpilot's 4.9 is mostly a score for support calls. Most recent five-star reviews there thank a named support person after a call or Zoom session, and Trustpilot's own summary leads with the support team. Trustpilot also notes that GoHighLevel invites customers to review.

G2 and Capterra rate the software. On G2, the most tagged complaint is the learning curve (140 mentions, plus 89 more for a "steep" one). On Capterra, ease of use scores 3.7, level with customer service as the lowest of its four scores. So the fair reading is this: people love the help they get, and they need it, because the product is hard to learn.

The support is loved because the software needs it.

The pros: what GoHighLevel does well

Everything in one place

This is the whole point, and it is real. The CRM, the pages, the inbox, the calendar and the automations share one contact record. A lead fills in a form, gets a text in seconds, books a call and gets a reminder, and you did not copy anything between apps. On G2, features and feature richness are the most tagged pros. If you are new to the platform, our guide to what GoHighLevel does walks through each part.

Follow-up that runs itself

Workflows are the best part. The simple ones pay for the plan on their own. Missed call text back takes minutes to set up and gives a missed caller a reason not to ring the next business on the list (here is how to set it up). Reminder texts go out before every booking. Review requests go out after every job without anyone remembering to send them.

Flat price, unlimited contacts and users

Every plan includes unlimited contacts and unlimited users. Many CRMs charge more as your list or team grows. With GoHighLevel, the plan price stays the same and you pay for what you send.

Help is easy to reach

Live help is one of the most praised parts on Trustpilot and G2. For setup questions, that matters a lot in the first month.

AI that is useful, if you set it up well

We run Conversation AI as our homepage chat bot. It answers questions and books calls. Two lessons from setting it up. First, write the knowledge base yourself. Do not let it read your whole website, or it can repeat example numbers from your pages as if they were real results. Second, check the bot is switched to Auto-Pilot and linked to the chat widget, or visitors get no reply at all. More in our Conversation AI review.

The cons: where GoHighLevel falls short

The learning curve is real

There are a lot of menus, settings and ways to do the same thing. The first week can feel like too much. This is the top complaint on G2 and the weakest score on Capterra. It gets better, but only if you give it time.

It changes constantly

GoHighLevel ships updates at a pace most software does not. Its changelog shows six releases on 23 September 2026 alone (HighLevel changelog). That brings new features fast. It also means buttons move, tutorials go out of date, and reviewers report bugs and outages without much warning.

Phone and text setup takes patience

To text US mobiles from a local number, you must register your business for A2P 10DLC first. Several one-star reviews are about phone lines or number checks stuck for weeks. Start the registration on day one, and do not switch off your old phone setup until texts are flowing.

Usage fees surprise people

The plan is $97, $297 or $497 a month. Texts, calls, emails, phone numbers and some AI are extra, charged from a wallet that tops itself up from your card. Incoming texts are billed too. None of this is hidden, but it is spread across help pages, and some reviews read like people found out from their card statement. Our GoHighLevel pricing guide lists every rate. For a small business, the extras usually come to tens of dollars a month.

Support is slower on hard problems

The quick help is fast. Real technical faults are another story. Some one-star reviews describe waits of days and tickets passed between teams. If your business cannot survive a day without texts, keep a backup line.

Some basics are missing

Missing features is G2's second most tagged complaint. Reviewers mention exports in particular. We hit something similar when we moved our blog: GoHighLevel's blog API let us write posts but not read the post text back out, so we had to copy all our posts from the live pages. When we checked in September 2026, its sitemap was also listing only 122 of our 135 posts. If you want to keep full control of your content, build your blog somewhere else and keep GoHighLevel for leads.

Email needs care

New accounts send from a shared setup and start with a low daily limit. One reviewer blamed poor delivery on the shared sending address they were given. A dedicated sending IP costs $59 a month, on the $297 and $497 plans. For most small lists, good sending habits matter more.

What GoHighLevel costs

Starter is $97 a month, Unlimited $297 and Agency Pro $497 (GoHighLevel pricing, checked 27 September 2026). A single business only needs Starter.

On GoHighLevel's own rates, a small business sending 500 texts and 2,000 emails a month pays about $107 to $116 in total, and about $157 to $166 with the $50 a month AI plan. The full sums are in our pricing guide.

What is better than GoHighLevel?

Better for what matters more than better overall:

  • If you only need email, a dedicated email tool is simpler and cheaper.
  • If you only need a course or community, a course platform is easier to learn.
  • If you have a big sales team, HubSpot is more polished for pipelines, reporting and forecasting. We compared them in GoHighLevel vs HubSpot.
  • If you mainly sell online with funnels, ClickFunnels is quicker to learn. See GoHighLevel vs ClickFunnels.

For a service business that needs to capture leads, follow them up by text and book them in, we have not found a better all-in-one for the price. That is why we still use it.

Is GoHighLevel worth it?

Yes, if:

  • Your business runs on calls, forms and bookings.
  • You will use at least three of its tools, like the CRM, texting and calendars.
  • You, or someone you pay, will spend real hours setting it up in the first month.

No, if:

  • You need one tool and nothing else.
  • You want it working today with no learning.
  • Nobody will own it after it is built.

That last one is the big one. GoHighLevel is the tool. Someone still has to build the funnels, write the texts, set up the automations and keep them running. If you would rather hand that work to a team, see how Havstock Unlimited works.

How to test GoHighLevel properly

The fairest review is your own. Sign up on GoHighLevel's own site and the standard trial is 14 days, with no extras. Our special link gives you a 30-day free trial of GoHighLevel plus a free live bootcamp (we may earn a commission from this link), which is more time to build something real. Use it like this:

  1. Start your A2P 10DLC text registration on day one.
  2. Connect one phone number and turn on missed call text back.
  3. Build one form, one workflow and one booking calendar.
  4. Send a small test email before you import your list.
  5. Put the trial end date in your calendar. Fees are non-refundable, so decide before it ends.

Our guide to the GoHighLevel free trial covers the card, the charges during the trial and how to cancel.

FAQ

Is GoHighLevel worth it?

GoHighLevel is worth it for service businesses and agencies that need lead capture, texting, email, booking and reviews in one place, and will spend time setting it up. It is not worth it if you only need one tool, or if nobody will build and run it. At $97 a month, it replaces several separate tools.

What are the downsides of GoHighLevel?

The main downsides are a steep learning curve, frequent changes that move things around, phone and text setup that needs registration first, usage fees on top of the plan, and slower support on hard technical problems. Reviewers also mention missing exports and email delivery issues on shared sending.

Is GoHighLevel legit?

Yes. HighLevel is an established software company based in Dallas, Texas. In March 2026 it said it had more than 120,000 customers and over 1 million small businesses on the platform. It holds a 4.6 on G2 and a 4.9 on Trustpilot, as of 27 September 2026.

Is GoHighLevel easy to learn?

No, not at first. The learning curve is the most common complaint on G2, and ease of use is one of its two lowest scores on Capterra. It gets easier once you learn the layout. Start with one job, like missed call text back, rather than building everything at once.

Is GoHighLevel good for small businesses?

Yes, for small service businesses that live on leads and bookings. The Starter plan at $97 a month covers one business with unlimited contacts and users. It is less suited to a business that only needs email or a website, where a single simple tool is cheaper and easier.

Which is better, HubSpot or GoHighLevel?

For small service businesses, GoHighLevel usually gives more for the money, with texting, funnels, booking and reviews built in at one flat price. HubSpot is more polished and suits larger sales teams. Pick based on your team size and what you need the software to do.

Our GoHighLevel review comes down to this: it is the best-value all-in-one we know for service businesses, as long as someone puts in the work. If that is you, start a 30-day free trial and build one thing that makes you money.
