GoHighLevel Training: Where to Learn It, Free and Paid

The best GoHighLevel training is mostly free. HighLevel's help center, its Welcome Course and a live bootcamp cover what most people need to get going. Certification costs $97 a month and suits people who build accounts for clients. Paid courses from other people are only worth it when they teach one job you need done. We checked every HighLevel page in this post on 26 October 2026.

Here is how the main options compare:

TrainingCostBest for
HighLevel help centerFreeLooking up one task when you need it
Welcome CourseNo price on the page. It asks for your name and emailA first look at the platform
Live BootcampFree with the 30-day trial on our special linkA guided first setup, with a person
Certified Admin$97 a month or $970 a yearFreelancers and agencies who build for clients
Paid courses from other peopleVariesOne skill, taught by someone who does it every week
YouTube, Reddit and Facebook groupsFreeIdeas and quick fixes, if the video is recent

Our pick: start with the bootcamp and the help center. Add certification only if GoHighLevel will be part of your job.

Is there free GoHighLevel training?

Yes, and most of it comes from HighLevel itself. There are three free routes worth your time.

The help center. It lives at help.gohighlevel.com. It has a written guide for most menus, and each article shows a "Modified on" date at the top. That date matters. GoHighLevel moves and renames menus often, so a guide from last week beats a video from last year. When you get stuck on one task, search here first.

The Welcome Course. HighLevel's own intro course. It asks for an email, and the page shows no price. More on it in the next section.

The live Bootcamp. A free live class on Zoom that comes with the trial. Our special link gets you a 30-day free trial of GoHighLevel plus the free live Bootcamp (we may earn a commission from this link). Sign up on GoHighLevel's own site and you get the standard 14 days, with no bootcamp.

Then there is everything else: YouTube tutorials, Reddit threads and Facebook groups. They are free and often useful. People who run real accounts sometimes share fixes there that the help center skips. The catch is age. A video that shows the wrong menu can cost you an evening.

Check the date on any GoHighLevel lesson before you follow it. Menus move.

Our tip: use YouTube and the groups for ideas, and the help center for the clicks.

What is the GoHighLevel Welcome Course?

The Welcome Course is HighLevel's own intro course, and its sign-up page tells you very little. We opened the Welcome Course page on 26 October 2026. This is all it says:

  • A headline aimed at agencies: "It's time to take your Agency to the Next Level".
  • One line: "Enter your details below to access the HighLevel Welcome Course".
  • A form with your first name and email, and a "Get Access!" button.

That is it. The page does not list the lessons. It does not say how long the course is, who it is for or what it covers. It shows no price and asks for no card.

So we will not tell you what is inside. We can tell you what the page makes clear. It costs you an email address, and the headline speaks to agencies. If you run one business, expect some parts to be about managing clients you do not have.

Is it worth it? For the price of an email, sign up and have a look. Just do not treat it as your only training. It will not walk you through your own setup, and it does not replace the help center.

What is the GoHighLevel bootcamp, and what does our link add?

The GoHighLevel Bootcamp is a free live class that walks you through a first setup in under an hour. It comes with a 30-day free trial when you sign up through the bootcamp page. We checked the page on 26 October 2026. Here is what it says.

QuestionWhat the Bootcamp page says
What is it?A live, interactive class that helps you launch your business in HighLevel in less than one hour
Where? On Zoom, with breakout rooms in smaller groups
How long?60 minutes at most
Recorded? No. It is not recorded or streamed to the public
What do you need?A laptop or desktop. Phones are not recommended
When?Live at 11am Central time. The page says weekdays in one spot and names a single day in another, so check the page before you plan around it

The page lists six quick wins you set up in the class:

  1. Text marketing
  2. Missed call text back
  3. The mobile app
  4. Social media connections
  5. Google Business chat
  6. Reputation and reviews

That list is a good sign. Missed call text back and review requests are two of the first things we would build for any small business. They start paying back in the first week.

What our link adds

Our special link gets you two things. A 30-day free trial, and a seat at the free live Bootcamp. Go straight to GoHighLevel's own site and you get the standard 14-day trial, with no bootcamp. We do not add anything else, and we will not pretend we do.

What to know before you sign up

  • A card is needed. The sign-up form has a payment step. When the 30 days end, the card on file is charged unless you cancel.
  • Usage costs still apply. The page says "communication surcharges may apply" during the trial. Texts and calls are billed as you use them.
  • It is not recorded. Block the hour and turn up at a computer.

Our free trial guide covers the card, the billing date and how to cancel. If you are ready, here is the 30-day trial with the live Bootcamp.

Is GoHighLevel certification worth it as training?

For most business owners, no. For freelancers and agencies who build accounts for clients, it can be. The HighLevel certifications page (checked 26 October 2026) sets out the deal.

DetailWhat the page says
Main courseCertified Admin
Price$97 a month, or $970 a year
Time to finishDesigned to take 7 to 10 days at a steady pace
ExamA live proctored exam. You must pass it to get the badge
How long the badge lastsTwo years from the day you pass
ExtrasDirectory listing, a certified community, job openings, extra badges

There are also specialist badges, such as A2P Compliance, AI Employee, HIPAA Compliance and Paid Ads. One thing on the page is unclear. It says you do not have to recertify every year. It also says you must earn at least two more skills badges a year to stay certified. Ask HighLevel before you count on either.

Here is our view. As training, certification teaches you the platform in a set order, with a test at the end. That structure helps some people. But $97 a month is a lot to pay for lessons when the help center and the Bootcamp are free. What you are really buying is the badge and the directory listing. Those matter if clients will find you through HighLevel. They do not matter if GoHighLevel only runs your own business.

Our full GoHighLevel certification guide goes deeper on the exam and the cost over a year.

Certification proves you passed a test. It does not prove you can build an account that brings in work.

Are paid GoHighLevel courses worth it?

Some are. Most are not, for one simple reason: the platform changes faster than a course gets re-recorded. A course you pay for today may show menus that no longer exist.

We are not naming paid courses here. We could not check them all on the day we wrote this, and we will not rank courses we have not taken. We are also a GoHighLevel affiliate ourselves, so weigh what any affiliate says about training with that in mind. That includes us.

Instead, here is what to check before you pay:

  1. When was it recorded? If the lessons are over a year old, expect some menus to be wrong.
  2. Is it for agencies or for one business? A lot of GoHighLevel training is made for agencies. Even HighLevel's own Welcome Course page opens with a line for agencies. If you run one business, check the lesson list for the parts you will actually use.
  3. Does the teacher run real accounts? Look for someone who builds and fixes accounts every week, not someone who mainly sells courses.
  4. Does it teach one job well? "Build a booking and follow-up system for a dental clinic" beats "Master everything in GoHighLevel".
  5. Is there a refund? Read the terms before you pay, not after.
  6. Is the course a sales pitch? If every lesson ends with an upsell to a template pack, it is a funnel, not training.

A paid course can save time when you need one skill fast and you can find a recent course that teaches exactly that. This will not suit you if what you really want is the thing built. A course teaches you to do the work. If you would rather not do it, paying for a course is the long way round. Our guide to hiring a GoHighLevel expert covers that route, and what it costs.

What order should you learn GoHighLevel in?

Learn GoHighLevel in the order you will use it. Basics first, then follow-up, then everything else. Open the funnel builder on day one and you can lose a week before a single lead gets a reply.

Here is the order we would follow:

WhenLearn thisWhere to learn it
Day 1Start the trial and book the BootcampThe Bootcamp page
Week 1Business profile, phone number, text registration (A2P 10DLC), email sending domainHelp center, plus our tutorial
Week 1The Bootcamp quick wins: missed call text back and review requestsThe live Bootcamp
Week 2Import contacts, build one pipeline, one calendar and one formHelp center, plus our tutorial
Week 2Your first workflow: new lead in, text out, deal on the pipelineHelp center
Month 2Websites, AI, courses, the social plannerHelp center and recent YouTube videos
Only if you build for clientsCertified AdminHighLevel certifications

Our GoHighLevel tutorial walks through the first ten steps in this order, with the menu paths checked against the help center. Treat it as your lessons list for the first two weeks.

One rule makes the whole thing easier. Build one of each thing and get it working before you build a second. One pipeline. One calendar. One form. One workflow.

Learn the parts that bring in money first. The funnel builder can wait a month.

Should you learn it at all?

If you like this kind of work, yes. None of it needs a developer, and the free training is good.

But be honest about your time. GoHighLevel is the tool. Someone still has to do the work: build the pipeline, write the texts, test the workflows and keep it all running. When this goes wrong, it is rarely the training. The owner gets busy and the account sits half-built. If you would rather hand that part over, see how Havstock Unlimited works, or have our team set up your CRM and automations for you.

FAQ

Is GoHighLevel training free?

Most of it is. The help center is free, the Welcome Course asks only for a name and email, and the live Bootcamp is free with the 30-day trial on our special link. YouTube, Reddit and Facebook groups are free too. Certification is the main paid option, at $97 a month or $970 a year.

How long does it take to learn GoHighLevel?

The basics take about two weeks of evenings: profile, phone, text registration, one pipeline, one calendar, one form and one workflow. The certification course is designed to take 7 to 10 days. Learning the whole platform takes far longer, and most business owners never need all of it.

What is HighLevel University?

HighLevel's certifications page names it once, to say the certification lessons are "not in your HighLevel University". We could not find a HighLevel page on 26 October 2026 that says what it contains, so we will not guess. For lessons you can check, use the help center and the Welcome Course.

Is the GoHighLevel Bootcamp recorded?

No. The Bootcamp page says the class is not recorded or streamed to the public. It runs live on Zoom for 60 minutes at most, with breakout rooms. You need a laptop or desktop, since the page says phones are not recommended. Block the time and join from your computer.

Do I need a credit card for the Bootcamp trial?

Yes. The sign-up form on the Bootcamp page has a payment step. You are not charged the subscription during the 30 days, but usage costs like texts may apply. When the trial ends, the card on file is charged unless you cancel first. Set a reminder a few days before.

Do I need GoHighLevel certification to use the software?

No. Certification is a separate paid course. You can use every part of GoHighLevel without it. It is aimed at people who build accounts for others and want the badge and the directory listing. If GoHighLevel only runs your own business, the free training covers what you need.

Where can I find GoHighLevel tutorials that are up to date?

Start with the help center at help.gohighlevel.com, since each article shows when it was last changed. For a step-by-step first setup, use our GoHighLevel tutorial. On YouTube, sort by newest and check the menus match what you see on screen before you follow along.

That is the full picture of GoHighLevel training. Free covers most of it: the help center for the clicks, the Welcome Course for a first look and the live Bootcamp for a guided setup. Pay for certification only if you will build for clients. If you have not signed up yet, start your 30-day free trial with the live Bootcamp here.
